The WhittierView team started developing software in 1997. We had an idea that we thought would be beneficial for the home health care industry and started our first product using Microsoft Access for the front and back ends. Yes, that is correct. That is how old we are. We started deploying “shrink-wrapped” software to be installed on premise in 1998 using a perpetual pricing model with annual maintenance and support. But we knew that was not planned for scalable, enterprise success. But, we developed an organization built on “lessons learned” and by 2000 we were deploying SaaS solutions over the Internet using an Oracle database, with software developed using Java and JavaScript, on a Linux OS.
